Longtime CDR family Om Unit, Mr. Beatnick & Hector Plimmer step up with two tracks dedicated to CDR’s former London home and legendary nightclub Plastic People. Between 2004 and 2014 CDR ran regular sessions at the greatly missed London institution. It was the perfect space for like-minded aspiring and established artists to come together and test their latest productions on a one of a kind soundsystem. Amongst the most regular attendees at the time were Om Unit, Mr. Beatnick, & Hector Plimmer. Mr. Beatnick’s previously unreleased remix of Om Unit’s ‘Back At Plastic’ is an irresistibly swung bottom-heavy excursion, equally hard-bodied as it is ethereal, and dates back to the end of CDR’s time at the club. ‘Into The Dark’ is Plimmer’s brooding homage to the dark dance floor and galvanizing sound of Plastic People, with crisp low slung percussion and undulating synths that build to an intense crescendo.
